An amazing concert filled with great songs and a fantastic interview with the most talented and outspoken Brazilian singer, Elis Regina. She sings effortlessly and with incredible passion. Some of the standards of MPB, “Brazilian Popular Music”, are shown at this special for a TV program. The best Brazilian songwriters wrote particularly to her. Don’t miss it!

Two Birds(104 min.)
Twists and turns, nothing is what it looks like. Or is it? Like Guy Ritchie and Tarantino, Afonso Poyart explores violence romantically; gives good use to special effects; and tells us an unforgettable story. Like Memento or the Butterfly Effect, you might want to watch it more than once to see if you really got it. A definite must. A jewel in disguise.

The Man Who Bottles Clouds(107 min.)
“Baião” is a Brazilian music genre most notably played in the Northeast of the country. It’s very genuine and its lyrics touch very important social and political issues of the region. This documentary talks about one of its creators, Humberto Teixeira, and it helps us to understand not only the genre itself, but also an era and a generation of dreamers.
The Clown(90 min.)
Benjamin inherited his father’s talent. They’re both clowns in charge of a troupe at a circus. They go from town to town making people forget about their ordinary lives for a few moments. They make people laugh, but who’s going to make them laugh? That’s what Benjamin starts to ponder. And we can follow him in this journey to find out the meaning of life.
Hotxuá(70 min.)
Hotxuá is a “high priest of laugh” of the Indian Tribe Krahô, from Palmas, in the heart of Brazil. He’s in charge of solving arguments and all sorts of matters between the members of the tribe by making them laugh. Watching them day by day, we learn how silly everything really is and how urgently we need to let go, live harmoniously and be happy.
Heleno(117 min.)
Heleno, a man who had it all, but risked it all. I guess we could sum it up like that. But that would only simplify an intense and extraordinary story. His biggest dream since his boyhood: to play soccer and become the best player ever. Heleno’s talent was undeniable, but his erratic behavior, both in the field and in life, jeopardized everything.

Lonely Swallows - Living as the Children of Migrant Workers(88 min.)
Five young Brazilians tell us what is life as a foreigner in Japan and how it is to go back to a country where they don’t belong either. They’re foreigners everywhere.
